Home to Spains most important collection of drawings, posters and an ever-growing collection of books.
The neoclassical building was opened in 1892, the 400th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the Americas and is home to 134,000 maps and specialist cartographic works. Statues of famous literary figures such as Cervantes greet visitors at the entrance.
